A mentor is an advisor, a counselor, or a trainer who guides and supports a younger individual or a mentee in their professional life. The mentor is experienced in the field that the mentee is interested in. (Ehrich & Hansford, 1999)
'I think mentors are important, and I don't think anybody makes it in the world without some form of mentorship.' Oprah Winfrey
The mentoring program will offer career and psychosocial support to the mentee. Career support consists of coaching, exposure to HR practices and principles, and assisting the mentee with challenging assignments. Psychosocial support consists of encouragement, advice, and constructive feedback.
